A: yes, i was making distros before 2020 (pre-nebios era) but they weren't as big as nebios. started with opensuse in 2014-2016! then tried cool stuff like apricity os (rip...), ubuntu was my daily driver for years... even tried arch and freebsd (yes i know it's not linux KSJDKS)... and then nebios happened! here we are! :D

A: on the official download page (nebios.org/download), when you select a version, you'll see the system requirements for that specific version. core 2 duo hasn't been supported since nebios 3 (released in 2024). i recommend running it on 2015-2018 or newer machines at minimum. my dell latitude 7390 is a good example of low-end hardware that runs it well!

if you really want to give feedback:
1. be nice and don't be toxic. saying "nebios is trash" doesn't help the project, it just kills morale. this kind of comment is enough for an instant block from me.
2. align with the vision. i don't want the project sabotaged by others' preferences. there's a clear goal and vision.
3. show logs for issues you experience, represent them with videos/photos.
look, i LOVE linux and open source, but there's a toxic subset of the community that makes things miserable. the "i use arch btw" crowd who trash ubuntu-based projects just because they're not "pure" enough, people who attack projects based on ideology or personal drama instead of actual engineering merit...
i want REAL ENGINEERING discussions - technical merits, architecture decisions, performance comparisons. not ideological warfare or personal attacks! some people spend more time gatekeeping and being elitist than actually building cool stuff.
this is especially bad in turkey's linux community where personal drama and ideology override technical discussion. nebios gets attacked not for technical reasons, but because it's ubuntu-based or because people don't like me personally. that's not how engineering works!
we need more builders, fewer gatekeepers!
omg where do i even start... security is literally NON-EXISTENT! my discord account got stolen through windows malware, and even linus tech tips got hacked through basic pdf-looking malware!! how is this acceptable in 2025??
the pricing?? RIDICULOUS! you could buy cyberpunk 2077 ultimate edition AND still have money left for pizza!! (mmm pizza... yum!)
windows 11 actively tries to block linux installations... not cool microsoft! between random bluescreens (how does changing a wallpaper crash the system??), 30-minute boot times, and constant security issues... it's just too much!!
that's ONE of the big reasons why nebios exists - to give people a BETTER choice!! everyone deserves better! try linux, experience actual freedom... but no pressure! :3

ugh... gta 5 completely lost what made gta 4 special - no more deep storytelling, just cheap jokes and microtransactions :(
and they DROPPED LINUX SUPPORT! in september 2024, rockstar added BattleEye anti-cheat to gta online... but here's the thing: BattleEye has FULL Proton/Linux support since 2021! all rockstar had to do was enable it on their end. instead, they deliberately chose NOT to, kicking out all linux/steam deck players!
this is pure misinformation and indirect discrimination! they claim it's a "technical limitation" but that's BS - tons of games use BattleEye on linux just fine: arma 3, dayz, ark: survival evolved, mount & blade ii: bannerlord, the finals, planetside 2... all working perfectly! rockstar just doesn't care about linux users. they took our money for years, then blocked us.
gta 6? after what they did to gta online, the trilogy, and now linux users? nah... i'll stick with cyberpunk 2077, at least cdpr actually cares about their players!
i completely avoid ANY tech connected to the chinese government - it's both surveillance AND supporting human rights violations (especially against uyghur people in east turkestan). i won't use:
lenovo/huawei devices
tiktok (privacy nightmare!)
ANY game/app connected to tencent - and tencent owns/controls A LOT:
• riot games (100% owned since 2015) - league of legends, valorant
• epic games (40% stake) - fortnite, unreal engine
• krafton/pubg studios (minority stake) - pubg
• and hundreds more companies worldwide!
fun fact: tencent bought riot games in stages - 93% in 2011, remaining 7% in 2015. epic games got 40% bought for $330M in 2012. their headquarters might be in america, but when tencent owns you, you dance to their tune!
some say "but tiktok is fun!" or "lenovo laptops are cheap!" - nope! there are better alternatives that don't compromise our values! taiwan tech is cool though! :D
java for UI? SERIOUSLY?? the architectural mistakes in android are wild! the whole dalvik/art runtime situation is a mess - why is the UI layer running on java when we have better options like native c++/python?
and NOW google is REMOVING APK SIDELOADING!! starting september 2026 in brazil, indonesia, singapore, and thailand - then rolling out globally in 2027! developers will need to verify their identity with google just to let users install apps outside the play store. this is basically turning android into ios!
yes, there's an "advanced flow" for power users and ADB workarounds, but come on... this kills the whole spirit of android being open! F-Droid users, hobby developers, anyone who values software freedom - we're all getting screwed!
i know there are other linux mobile OS attempts - postmarketOS, mobian, ubuntu touch (ubports), plasma mobile, sailfish OS, etc. - but most aren't daily-driver ready yet. nebios mobile will be different! we're building on lessons learned from these projects to create something actually usable for normal people.
nebios mobile will:
• respect users and not treat them like children
• have proper architecture (python/c++/c, not java everywhere!)
• not require permission from a megacorp to install software
• actually care about freedom AND usability, not just one or the other
nebios mobile will be what android should have been - and more practical than current linux mobile OSes!
i HATE ai-generated art, music, AND videos. ai creating full songs, generating artwork, making videos - all of this replacing human creativity makes me sick!
ai is ONLY good for humor/memes - that's it! for serious content? absolutely not! and in coding? sure, ai can be a coding ASSISTANT - help debug, suggest solutions, explain concepts. but ai should NEVER manage software projects or make architectural decisions!
when you get into bootloader code, system components, low-level stuff - ai completely falls apart! it doesn't understand the complexity and nuance of real systems engineering. that requires human expertise!
especially when privacy-hostile companies like google and microsoft are pushing ai everywhere... no thanks! keep it as a browser tab for quick questions, nothing more!
artists, musicians, video creators, system architects - these are HUMANS creating meaningful work with years of expertise, not algorithms stealing from existing content to generate soulless replacements!
keep ai in its lane: helpful tool for specific tasks, NOT a replacement for human expression or engineering judgment!
